The first generation of Ducato had the 1929 unit in the lighter chassis from the start however the heavier vans that I encountered had a Citroen M series ohv unit of the type fitted to the CX it all depends on the weight of the vehicle used for the camper conversion - the larger coachbuilts often had the 25 ohv diesel. One engine option was a Fiat L diesel which was replaced with L Iveco Sofim engine in The Ducato Goods.
